The built in scanner is capable of scanning the route used to obtain a distance and return the distance travelled inside Emission Control Areas (ECAs). It is not necessary to have access to the route in order to obtain this information, it is automatically returned if scanning is requested.

 

If your subscription allows access to the route used, the scanner can, in addition to inserting waypoints as you enter and leave ECAs, insert waypoints as you enter and leave Loadline zones and/or the Distance Tables Indian Ocean piracy zone.
