The Backstage View is accessed by clicking the File tab in the top left corner of the application, shown with the red highlight in the screen shot below.

This is where you manage voyages and their related information - opening and saving voyages, printing, and setting options.
Essentially, it allows you to do all those things that you do to a voyage that you don't do in the voyage.
The File tab replaces the Microsoft Office Button and the File menu used in earlier software applications.

File Operations

Save |
Save the current voyage to a file which can be opened at a later date to repopulate the list of voyage ports. Only the ports and their associated routing options are saved. |

Open |
Open a previously saved voyage file. |
|
Print the current voyage report. |
Report
The Report Backstage Tab allows a Voyage Summary Report to be generated and previewed prior to printing or saving to a PDF file. The Report can optionally include sections for Voyage Leg Details and Information, Waypoint Details, Distances and Information.
Help
Provides access to a variety of resources designed to assist you in using the software to its full advantage.
Options
Provides access to the software System Options.
Exit
Can be used to close the application. You will be prompted to confirm the action. In practice, simply closing the browser session is a lot easier and quicker, however, the option is there to provide consistency with conventional desktop software applications.
